N-acetyl-L- Cysteine is an N-acetylated derivative of cysteine, which contains a thiol group, which can cleave the disulfide bond (-SS-) of the mucin peptide bond, thereby changing the mucin chain into a small molecule peptide. The chain reduces the viscosity of mucin, so this product is a drug that dissolves mucus, purulent sputum, and respiratory mucus.
