Compound β – hydroxy – β – methylbutyrate, abbreviated as HMB Ca, β – hydroxy – β – methylbutyric acid (HMB), widely exists in citrus fruits, some vegetables such as broccoli, legumes such as alfalfa and some fish and seafood. Due to the active nature of HMB, industry used synthetic method to convert HMB into calcium salt – β – hydroxy – β – methylbutyrate (HMB CA); calcium salt is widely used.
